Abstract

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is the main food commodity in Indonesia, but its productivity in the alluvial soils of West Kalimantan is still constrained by unfavorable physical and chemical soil properties. This study aimed to determine the most optimal concentration of amino acid-based biostimulant on the growth and yield of Trisakti rice variety in alluvial soil. This was based on the need for environmentally friendly cultivation innovations to reduce dependence on inorganic fertilizers and to optimize the utilization of extensive alluvial land in West Kalimantan. The research was conducted from August to December 2025 for approximately five months in Punggur Kecil, Sungai Kakap Sub-district, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan. The research method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a single factor consisting of five levels of amino acid-based biostimulant concentration (0, 10, 15, 20, and 25 mL/L) with five replications. The observed variables included plant height, number of tillers, root volume, plant dry weight, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, and other yield components. The results showed that the application of amino acid-based biostimulant had a significant effect on the number of tillers at 9 Weeks After Planting (WAP), panicle length, and number of grains per panicle. The concentration of 15 mL/L consistently gave the best results with an average of 50.4 tillers, panicle length of 24 cm, and 147 grains per panicle. Overall, the concentration of 15 mL/L was concluded to be the most effective concentration for increasing vegetative growth and yield potential of  Trisakti rice in alluvial soil.
