Training Penyuluh Dan Petugas BBI Dalam Merakit Alat Tangkap Tangguk Dengan Teknik Menjurai, Sebagai Alat Tangkap Utama di UPTD BBI Dinas Perikanan Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and technical skills of Fisheries Extension Officers and staff of the Fish Seed Center (BBI) of the Fisheries Service of Lima Puluh Kota Regency in assembling tangguk fishing gear using the menjurai technique. The main problem faced by the partners was the limited ability to assemble and repair fishing gear made of netting materials, which led to dependency on purchasing new equipment. The training was conducted on May 26, 2025, at the Hall of the Fisheries Service Office using an academic approach through lectures and hands-on practice. The training materials included an introduction to the menjurai technique, tools and materials, and step-by-step procedures for assembling tangguk nets. The results showed an improvement in participants’ understanding and skills in assembling tangguk fishing gear independently, although further practice is still needed to improve the neatness and consistency of the nets produced. This activity is expected to support work efficiency at the BBI and strengthen the role of fisheries extension officers in disseminating technical skills to the wider fisheries community.
