Plagiarism
Plagiarism Policy
Manuscripts submitted to Sihowu Book Publishing will be checked to ensure that they are free from plagiarism practices. Any manuscript found to contain plagiarism or self-plagiarism will be immediately rejected.
Before being sent to the review process, each manuscript is screened for similarity by the editorial team. Manuscripts submitted to Sihowu Book Publishing must have a similarity level below 25% (excluding references), and the similarity score from any single source must not exceed 1%.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of presenting another person’s ideas or words as one’s own without proper permission, credit, or acknowledgment, or due to the failure to properly cite sources. Plagiarism may take several forms, including:

Literal Copying: Directly copying another author’s work word for word, in whole or in part, without permission, acknowledgment, or citation.

Substantial Copying: Reproducing a significant portion of another person’s work without acknowledgment or citation. This may refer to both the quantity and the intellectual quality of the copied material.

Paraphrasing: Taking ideas, words, or sentences from a source and rewriting them without providing proper acknowledgment or citation.
Forms of Plagiarism Include (but are not limited to):

Quoting words, sentences, data, or information from a source without proper citation.

Using ideas, opinions, theories, or views from a source without adequate acknowledgment.

Rewriting words or sentences from another person’s work without citing the source.

Submitting manuscripts or works produced or published by others as one’s own.
Prevention
Sihowu Book Publishing ensures that every published book or manuscript does not exceed a similarity level of 25%. Plagiarism screening will be conducted using Turnitin or equivalent software.
Sanctions
If plagiarism is detected, sanctions may include:
