This study aims to analyze the representation of Generation Z in contemporary English-language novels using a sociology of literature approach. Generation Z refers to individuals born between 1997 and 2012 who have grown up in a digital era characterized by rapid technological advancement, social media expansion, globalization, and shifting social values. The research focuses on several contemporary novels featuring adolescent and young adult characters, namely The Hate U Giveby Angie Thomas, Turtles All the Way Down by John Green, Normal People by Sally Rooney, and Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry by Joya Goffney. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis techniques. The data consist of narratives, dialogues, and character actions reflecting Generation Z characteristics. The findings reveal that the representation of Generation Z in these novels is characterized by five major aspects: digital identity, social and political awareness, mental health concerns, identity diversity, and self-discovery in a complex society. Contemporary English-language novels not only portray the lived experiences of Generation Z but also function as a medium for reflecting on social transformations occurring in the digital age. Therefore, literature serves both as a mirror and a critique of contemporary social realities experienced by young people.
