The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed the educational landscape, including foreign language learning. Generation Z students, who have grown up in a digital environment, tend to utilize AI-based platforms to support their learning activities. This study aims to examine the influence of Artificial Intelligence on the motivation to learn German among Generation Z university students. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed using a survey method involving 100 students from foreign language education programs who utilized AI-based applications in German language learning. The findings indicate that AI positively affects students’ learning motivation (β = 0.521; p < 0.001; R² = 0.271). Easy access to information, instant feedback, personalized learning experiences, and increased confidence in language practice are the main factors contributing to both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. However, excessive dependence on AI may reduce critical thinking skills and learner autonomy. Therefore, AI should be integrated wisely as a supportive learning tool while maintaining students as the central actors in the learning process.
