The issue addressed in this study is the low level of critical thinking skills among Grade V students. The study focuses on how the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model can improve students' critical thinking skills within the IPAS subject at UPT SPF SD Inpres Maccini Sombala 1 Makassar. This is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) study aimed at examining the process and outcomes of implementing the PBL model to enhance students' critical thinking skills in IPAS. A qualitative approach was employed. Data collection techniques included observation, testing, and documentation, with data analyzed qualitatively. The research subjects consisted of 28 individuals: one Grade V teacher and 27 students. The study was conducted over two cycles. The results indicate that the implementation of the PBL model led to improvements in both teacher and student activities, shifting from the "sufficient" category in Cycle I to the "good" category in Cycle II. Improvements were also observed in students' critical thinking test scores; while performance fell into the "sufficient" category in Cycle I, it reached the "good" category in Cycle II. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model effectively improves the critical thinking skills of Grade V students in the IPAS subject at UPT SPF SD Inpres Maccini Sombala 1 Makassar.
