This study is motivated by the low level of student participation in the geography learning process. Student learning participation is a crucial aspect of the learning process, as it reflects the extent to which students engage with the material and participate in learning activities. Teaching the material and participate in learning activities. Teaching the hydrological cycle in geography requires instructional media that encourage active student involvement through engaging and interactive activities. A “spin wheel” tool serves as an effective instructional medium, offering students opportunities to participate through question-and-answer sessions and discussions. This study aims to assess the suitability of the spin wheel medium, evaluate improvements in student learning participation, and gauge user responses to the tool. The study employs the research and development (R&D) method using the ASSURE model, which comprises six stages: Analyze Learners, State Objectives, Select Methods, Media, and Materials, Utilize Media and Materials, Require Learner Participation, and Evaluate and Revise. The research subject matter expert validation sheets, media expert validation sheets, user response questionnaires, learning participation observation sheets, and documentation. Data analysis utilized descriptive percentage analysis to determine the media’s feasibility level and user responses, while the increase in learning participation was analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test. The results indicate that the spin wheel media was categorized as “highly feasible” based on validations by subject matter and media experts. The user response questionnaire yielded an 83% score, also categorized as “highly feasible,” demonstrating a very positive student response to the media’s use. The Paired Sample T-Test results showed a significance value of 0.000 (Sig.<0.05), indicating a significant difference in student learning participation score increased from 36.39 to 60.00 following the media’s use. Thus, the spin wheel media is deemed feasible and effective for enhancing student learning participation regarding the hydrologic cycle topic in grade X at SMAN 1 Driyorejo.
