Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

The initial review of the submitted manuscript is conducted by the editors. During this desk evaluation, it is determined if the manuscript is suitable for Innovative Research in Civil and Environmental Engineering (IRCEE) based on its focus and scope, similarity score using Crosscheck-iThenticate, methodological soundness, readability, and adherence to the journal's paper template. If deemed suitable, the manuscript is sent to at least two anonymous reviewers for a Blind Peer Review.

The anonymous reviewers' comments are then communicated to the corresponding author, who is responsible for making the necessary revisions and responses. The editorial team then meets to discuss and suggest a final decision regarding the revised manuscript. Finally, the Editor communicates the final decision to the corresponding author. Accepted manuscripts proceed to the copyediting and layout editing stages to prepare the camera-ready version of the paper.

Review Outcomes

Based on feedback from the peer review process, the Editor makes the final publication decision. The review process typically takes 4 to 8 weeks. Decision categories include:

  • Reject: Rejected manuscripts will not be published, and authors will not have the opportunity to resubmit a revised version to Innovative Research in Civil and Environmental Engineering (IRCEE).

  • Resubmit for Review: The manuscript requires significant changes and a second round of review before it can be accepted.

  • Accept with Revisions: Manuscripts that receive an accept-pending-revisions decision must undergo Minor or Major modifications before publication. These revisions are reviewed by the editorial team to ensure necessary updates are made.

  • Accept: Accepted manuscripts will be published in their current form without further modifications.
