Plagiarism Screening

All articles submitted to Jurnal Ilmu Bisnis Digital (JIBIDAL) will undergo plagiarism screening. JIBIDAL will immediately reject any manuscript found to contain plagiarism or self-plagiarism.

Before being sent to reviewers, each submission is checked for similarity by the editorial team. Articles must have:

  • Similarity from any single source not exceeding 1%.

Manuscripts that fail to meet these criteria will be returned or rejected.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism occurs when an author presents someone else’s ideas or words as their own without proper acknowledgment, permission, or citation. Plagiarism may appear in several forms, including the following:

1. Literal Copying

Directly copying another author’s work word for word, in whole or in part, without permission, acknowledgment, or citation. This type of plagiarism is easily identifiable by comparing the suspected text to the original source.

2. Substantial Copying

Reproducing a significant portion of another person’s work without proper citation—measured both in terms of quantity and quality. Quality refers to the importance or centrality of the copied material within a work.

3. Paraphrasing

Rewriting ideas, words, or phrases from a source using different sentence structures or expressions without giving proper credit. This form is more difficult to detect but is still considered plagiarism if not properly cited.

Forms of Plagiarism Include but Are Not Limited To:

  • Quoting terms, sentences, data, or information without proper citation.

  • Quoting random words or information from a source without acknowledgment.

  • Using someone else’s ideas, opinions, views, or theories without citing the source.

  • Rewriting sentences or ideas from a source without acknowledging the original author.

  • Submitting scientific work produced or published by others as one’s own.

Prevention Measures

JIBIDAL ensures that all accepted articles meet the plagiarism threshold of no more than 25% similarity. The journal uses Turnitin for plagiarism detection and verification.
