Author Guidelines

A. General Requirements

Journal of Advanced Engineering and Technology Research (JODETOS)

To ensure that manuscripts meet the publication standards of the Journal of Advanced Engineering and Technology Research (JODETOS), authors must follow the guidelines below:

  1. Manuscripts may be written in English or Indonesian; however, all submissions must include an abstract and keywords in English.

  2. Papers must be prepared in A4 format and written using English.

  3. Manuscripts should be typed in a two-column layout.

  4. Line spacing must be single throughout the manuscript.

  5. Page margins should follow this format: Top 1.9 cm, Bottom 4.13 cm, Left 1.43 cm, Right 1.43 cm, with mirror margin settings.

  6. Manuscripts must use Times New Roman, 10-point font, and be prepared using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).

  7. Figures must be sequentially numbered, with titles/captions placed below each figure using single spacing.

  8. Tables must be sequentially numbered, with titles placed above each table using single spacing.

  9. Author names must include complete institutional affiliations and a valid corresponding email address.

  10. Manuscripts should be 6 to 10 pages in length. Papers exceeding 10 pages may be subject to additional editorial evaluation.

  11. Authors are required to use reference management software such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote, and citations must follow the APA style.

  12. Manuscripts must be formatted according to the official JODETOS article template.

  13. Submissions must adhere to the journal’s Ethical Statement, Plagiarism Policy, and Copyright and Licensing Policy.


B. Structure of the Manuscript

Manuscripts submitted to JODETOS should follow the structure below:

1. Title

The title should be written in sentence case, free of abbreviations or acronyms, and clearly convey the central theme or focus of the study.

2. Abstract

The abstract must not exceed 250 words, written in Times New Roman, single-spaced. It should contain no citations and must include:

  • background of the research problem,

  • proposed solution or purpose of the study,

  • research design,

  • methods used,

  • key findings,

  • analysis, and

  • main conclusions.

3. Main Sections (IMRaD Format)

a. Introduction

Explain the significance of the study, the problem addressed, relevant previous research, the existing research gap, and how the present study contributes to addressing that gap. If applicable, state hypotheses at the end of the section.

b. Methods

Provide a clear and detailed description of the research procedures, including the population, sample, instruments, materials, and analytical techniques. This section should enable replication and is typically written in past tense and passive voice, with subheadings as needed.

c. Results and Discussion

Results:
Present findings objectively, using tables and figures when appropriate. Figures should have captions below, while tables should have titles above. Use past tense.

Discussion:
Interpret findings, relate them to existing literature, highlight contributions, acknowledge limitations, and propose directions for future research.

d. Conclusion

Summarize the key outcomes of the study. Discuss how the findings support the research objectives, relate to previous work, and contribute to the broader body of knowledge.

4. References

Authors must provide at least 20 references, with a minimum of five sources published within the last ten years, unless older literature is required for foundational or historical purposes. All references must follow APA style.

While authors are responsible for citation accuracy, the editorial team may revise grammar and layout for consistency.
