Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process – Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan Terpadu Indonesia (KESTERI)

All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan Terpadu Indonesia (KESTERI) undergo an initial screening by the editorial team. During this desk review, editors assess whether the manuscript aligns with the journal’s aims and scope, meets methodological and scientific standards, follows the journal’s formatting guidelines, and passes the similarity check using Crosscheck–iThenticate. Manuscripts that meet these criteria are forwarded to at least two qualified reviewers for a Blind Peer Review.

The reviewers’ evaluations and comments are then sent to the corresponding author, who is responsible for submitting revisions and responses. After the revised manuscript is received, the editorial board reviews the updated version and deliberates to determine the appropriate editorial decision. The final decision is communicated by the Editor to the corresponding author. Manuscripts accepted for publication will proceed to copyediting and layout preparation for the final camera-ready version.

Review Outcomes

Following the peer review process, the Editor makes the final decision regarding the manuscript’s publication. The typical review timeline ranges from 4 to 8 weeks. Editorial decisions include:

1. Reject

The manuscript cannot be accepted for publication, and authors may not submit a revised version of the same work to KESTERI.

2. Resubmit for Review

Significant revisions are required, and the manuscript must undergo an additional round of peer review before a final decision can be made.

3. Accept with Revisions

The manuscript is conditionally accepted but must be revised—either Minor or Major revisions. The editorial team will re-evaluate the revised manuscript to ensure it meets publication standards.

4. Accept

The manuscript is accepted in its current form and will proceed directly to production stages.
