Publication Ethics
AUTHOR ETHICS
Reporting
Authors must provide accurate, honest, clear, and comprehensive information regarding the research process, methodology, data, and results to the Editor. Authors are responsible for maintaining research data and supporting materials properly and securely so that the integrity and reliability of the research can be maintained.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that manuscripts submitted to the Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan Matematika Indonesia (MATEDO) are original works, developed from their own research, ideas, and scholarly contributions. Authors must properly acknowledge and cite all sources used in the manuscript and must not present the ideas, data, findings, or writings of others as their own.
Redundant or Duplicate Submission
Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript has not been previously published and is not simultaneously submitted to another journal or publication. Any form of redundant, duplicate, or simultaneous submission is considered unethical and may result in rejection of the manuscript.
Authorship
Authors must ensure that all individuals listed as authors have made substantial contributions to the research and manuscript and have participated appropriately in the preparation or revision of the article. All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission. The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the editorial office and coordinating communication with all co-authors throughout the publication process.
Correction of Errors
Authors are responsible for promptly notifying the Editor if they discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their submitted or published manuscript, including errors related to authorship, affiliations, methodology, data, results, references, or other content that may affect the interpretation or credibility of the work. Authors must cooperate with the Editor to correct or, when necessary, retract the affected content.
Disclosure of Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, professional, personal, or other conflicts of interest that could potentially influence the research process, results, interpretation, or publication of the manuscript. Any sources of research funding or relevant financial support should also be disclosed appropriately.
EDITOR ETHICS
Publication Decision
Editors of the Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan Matematika Indonesia (MATEDO) are responsible for making publication decisions through a transparent, objective, fair, and professional editorial process. Decisions must be based on the manuscript's academic quality, originality, methodological rigor, relevance to the journal's focus and scope, and contribution to the development of mathematics education.
Information Management
Editors must ensure the proper management, security, confidentiality, and appropriate distribution of information related to manuscripts, authors, reviewers, and journal operations, including both electronic and printed materials.
Peer-Review Distribution
Editors are responsible for assigning manuscripts to qualified and appropriate reviewers based on their expertise and the subject area of the submitted manuscript. Editors must manage the peer-review process effectively, fairly, and efficiently.
Objectivity and Neutrality
Editors must evaluate manuscripts objectively and without discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, religion, race, nationality, institutional affiliation, political beliefs, or other personal characteristics of the authors.
Confidentiality
Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and all information related to the review and publication process. Manuscript information may only be disclosed to authorized individuals involved in the editorial and peer-review process.
Disclosure of Conflict of Interest
Editors must avoid actual or potential conflicts of interest in handling manuscripts. Editors must not use unpublished information, data, methods, or ideas contained in submitted manuscripts for their own research or personal benefit without the author's written permission.
REVIEWER ETHICS
Objectivity and Neutrality
Reviewers of the Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan Matematika Indonesia (MATEDO) must conduct manuscript evaluations objectively, fairly, independently, and professionally. Reviews should focus on the academic quality, originality, methodology, relevance, clarity, and contribution of the manuscript and should provide constructive recommendations to help authors improve their work.
Source Clarity
Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been appropriately cited by the authors. Reviewers should also notify the Editor of any substantial similarity, duplication, plagiarism, or significant overlap between the submitted manuscript and previously published works.
Review Timeliness
Reviewers are expected to complete the review within the assigned review period, with a maximum period of 2 weeks. If a reviewer is unable to complete the review within the specified period, they should promptly inform the editorial office so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
Confidentiality
Reviewers must treat manuscripts received for evaluation as confidential documents. Manuscripts, research data, unpublished findings, and other information obtained through the review process must not be shared, copied, discussed, or used for personal or professional purposes without authorization from the Editor.
Disclosure of Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest that could influence their evaluation of a manuscript. Reviewers should decline the assignment if they have a personal, professional, institutional, financial, or other relationship with the authors that could compromise the objectivity and independence of their review.
