Author Guidelines
A. General Requirements
To meet the minimum standards of the Jurnal Ilmu Sosial, Pendidikan, Sains, Ekonomi dan Teknik (SONONI), manuscripts must comply with the following requirements:
- Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English and must include an abstract and keywords in English.
- The manuscript should be prepared on A4 paper size.
- The text must be formatted in two columns.
- Line spacing should be single-spaced (1.0) throughout the manuscript.
- Page margins should be:
- Top: 1.9 cm
- Bottom: 4.13 cm
- Left: 1.43 cm
- Right: 1.43 cm
- Mirror margins should be applied.
- The manuscript should be typed using Times New Roman, 10-point font, and prepared using Microsoft Word.
- Figures must be numbered consecutively, with figure captions placed below the figures using single spacing.
- Tables must be numbered consecutively, with table titles placed above the tables using single spacing.
- Author names must include complete institutional affiliations and corresponding email addresses.
- Manuscripts should contain 6–10 pages. Manuscripts exceeding 10 pages may be considered at the discretion of the editorial board.
- Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or other citation management tools.
- References and citations must follow the APA (American Psychological Association) Style.
- Manuscripts must be prepared according to the official SONONI manuscript template.
- All submissions must comply with the journal's:
- Publication Ethics Policy
- Plagiarism Policy
- Copyright Notice
- Copyright Transfer Agreement (if applicable)
- Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript has not been submitted or published elsewhere.
B. Structure of the Manuscript
The manuscript should be organized according to the following structure:
Title
The title should:
- Clearly reflect the content and focus of the study.
- Be written in sentence case.
- Avoid unnecessary abbreviations and acronyms.
- Be concise, informative, and specific.
Abstract
The abstract should:
- Not exceed 250 words.
- Be written in Times New Roman with single spacing.
- Be presented in one paragraph.
- Not contain citations, references, tables, or figures.
The abstract should briefly explain:
- Background of the problem.
- Research objectives.
- Research methods and design.
- Main findings.
- Discussion of the results.
- Conclusions and implications.
Keywords
Provide 3–5 keywords that accurately represent the content of the manuscript.
Article Structure (IMRaD Format)
The manuscript should follow the IMRaD structure:
Introduction
The Introduction should:
- Explain the importance and relevance of the study.
- Present the research problem.
- Review relevant literature and previous studies.
- Identify research gaps or unresolved issues.
- Explain the novelty and contribution of the study.
- State the objectives of the research.
- Present hypotheses (if applicable) at the end of the section.
Methods
The Methods section should clearly describe:
- Research design.
- Population and sample.
- Data collection techniques.
- Research instruments.
- Materials and equipment used.
- Data analysis methods.
The information provided should be sufficiently detailed to allow replication of the study by other researchers.
Results and Discussion
Results
The Results section should:
- Present research findings clearly and systematically.
- Use tables, figures, and statistical analyses where appropriate.
- Number tables and figures separately.
- Place table titles above tables and figure captions below figures.
Discussion
The Discussion section should:
- Interpret and explain the findings.
- Compare results with previous studies.
- Highlight theoretical and practical implications.
- Discuss limitations of the study.
- Suggest directions for future research.
Conclusion
The Conclusion should:
- Summarize the main findings.
- Answer the research objectives.
- Demonstrate the contribution of the study.
- Explain the significance of the findings.
- Provide recommendations when appropriate.
The conclusion should not merely repeat the results but should emphasize the contribution to scientific knowledge.
Acknowledgment
Acknowledgments may be included to recognize funding agencies, institutions, research assistants, or individuals who contributed significantly to the research but do not meet authorship criteria.
References
References should:
- Contain a minimum of 20 references.
- Include at least five references published within the last ten years, unless older references are essential to the topic.
- Primarily consist of scholarly sources such as journal articles, books, conference proceedings, and reputable scientific publications.
- Be formatted according to the APA Style.
The accuracy and completeness of references are the responsibility of the authors.
