Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Integrated Agriculture and Forest Sciences (NILAFO) undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

The review process begins with an initial editorial screening (desk review) conducted by the editors. At this stage, the manuscript is evaluated for its suitability with the journal’s focus and scope, similarity score using Crosscheck–iThenticate, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and compliance with the journal’s manuscript template.

Manuscripts that pass the desk review are then forwarded to at least two independent and anonymous reviewers through a double-blind peer review process. Reviewer comments and recommendations are communicated to the corresponding author, who is responsible for revising the manuscript and providing a structured response to the reviewers’ feedback.

After the revised manuscript is returned, the editorial team evaluates the revisions and deliberates to reach a final decision. The Editor subsequently communicates the final decision to the corresponding author. Accepted manuscripts proceed to the copyediting and layout editing stages to produce the final camera-ready version.

Review Outcomes

Based on the peer-review results, the Editor makes the final publication decision. The overall review process typically takes 4–8 weeks. Possible decisions include:

  • Reject
The manuscript is not accepted for publication and cannot be resubmitted to NILAFO.

  • Resubmit for Review
The manuscript requires substantial revision and must undergo a second round of peer review before further consideration.

  • Accept with Revisions
The manuscript is accepted pending minor or major revisions. Revised manuscripts are evaluated by the editorial team to ensure that all required changes have been adequately addressed.

  • Accept
The manuscript is accepted for publication without further revisions.
