Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics

The Journal of Integrated Agriculture and Forest Sciences (NILAFO) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of authors, editors, and reviewers involved in the publication process.

Author Ethics

Reporting Standards

Authors must present accurate, honest, and comprehensive accounts of their research methods, data, and findings. Research data must be properly maintained and made available if required.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are entirely original and written by themselves. Proper citation of the work and ideas of others is mandatory. Any form of plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

Multiple or Redundant Submission

Authors must confirm that the manuscript has not been previously published or submitted simultaneously to another journal. Manuscripts found to involve redundant publication will be rejected.

Authorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all listed authors approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission.

Correction of Errors

Authors are required to promptly notify the editor of any significant errors discovered in the manuscript and cooperate fully to correct or retract the paper if necessary.

Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation of their research.

Editor Ethics

Publication Decisions

Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts are accepted or rejected based on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance. Editorial decisions are made collectively and independently of external influence.

Fair Play and Objectivity

Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on their intellectual content, without discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, religion, nationality, or institutional affiliation.

Confidentiality

Editors must ensure the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and related information throughout the review process.

Peer-Review Management

Editors are responsible for assigning qualified reviewers and ensuring an efficient, transparent, and objective peer-review process.

Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest

Editors must avoid handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.

Reviewer Ethics

Objectivity and Professionalism

Reviewers must conduct evaluations objectively, fairly, and confidentially, supporting their assessments with clear and constructive arguments.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published work not cited by the authors and report any suspected plagiarism or ethical concerns to the editor.

Timeliness

Reviewers are expected to complete reviews within the specified timeframe (maximum of two weeks). Any anticipated delays must be communicated to the editorial office.

Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest

Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest to maintain the integrity of the review process.
