This study aims to describe changes in Indonesian language among adolescents due to social media use at the vocabulary and sentence levels, as well as the factors that influence them. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, using data from posts, comments, and captions by Indonesian adolescents on Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter (X) for the period 2025–2026. Data were collected through purposive screenshot documentation and analyzed using sociolect and language variation theory. A total of 59 data sets were collected, consisting of 35 vocabulary items and 24 sentence items. At the vocabulary level, changes are seen in the form of abbreviations, acronyms, foreign loanwords, slang, and viral words. At the sentence level, changes are seen in shortened sentence structures, code mixing, expressive sentences, and deviations from standard rules. Most of the data fall into the categories of everyday sociolect and slang, which serve as efficient communication tools and markers of adolescent group identity. Social media acts as an accelerator, accelerating the birth and spread of new terms.
