The development of information and communication technology has driven changes in community interaction patterns, particularly among the younger generation in their use of language on digital media. One emerging phenomenon is the use of slang on social media, such as TikTok, characterized by the use of abbreviations, acronyms, shortened words, altered word forms, and popular expressions. This research aims to describe the forms of slang used in digital media content, explain the contexts and functions of its use, and examine its implications for the use of Indonesian in formal contexts. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data sources consisting of purposively selected TikTok content based on its relevance to the research focus. Data collection techniques are planned through non-participant observation and documentation, while data analysis is carried out through the stages of identification, selection, classification, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. Theoretical review indicates that slang can function as a means of self-expression, group identity formation, and building rapport in informal communication. However, its use in formal contexts must be adapted to the rules of the Indonesian language and the purpose of communication. This research is expected to provide an understanding of language variation in digital media and serve as a reference in Indonesian language learning, raising young people's awareness of using language appropriately according to communication contexts.
