Abstract

This research discusses a case study regarding the handling of a child with special needs with suspected Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in a 7-year-old subject with the initials KH. The subject exhibits delays in receptive and expressive language, motor skills, and socio-emotional aspects, accompanied by hyperactive tendencies and difficulties in two-way communication. Data collection was conducted through observation at the Rumah Anak Prestasi (RAP) of the Surabaya City Social Service and aloanamnesis interviews with the subject's biological mother. Assessment results indicate that KH requires an individually tailored learning stimulation program utilizing visual and kinesthetic learning styles. The intervention approach refers to Nur El-Islam's theory, which emphasizes the importance of synergy between parents and therapists. The recommended stimulation program includes the use of three-dimensional Educational Teaching Aids (APE), behavior modification with a reward system, and the application of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) therapy for emotional regulation. The conclusion of this study asserts that managing children with ADHD requires intensive collaboration among the family, school, and therapy institutions, as well as consistency in occupational and speech therapy to optimize the child's independence and social adaptation skills.
