Maqāṣid Syariah Sebagai Kerangka Etika Teknologi

Abstract

Rapid technological advancement has brought many benefits to human life, but on the other hand, it has also created several ethical issues, such as privacy violations, spread of inaccurate information, unequal access to technology, and misuse of artificial intelligence. Therefore, it is necessary to have an ethical framework that can provide guidance in the development and use of technology so that it remains focused on human well-being. This article aims to examine the concept of Maqāṣid Syariah as an ethical framework for dealing with the development of modern technology. The method used is library research, which involves analyzing various literature related to Maqāṣid Syariah and technology ethics. The study shows that the principles of Maqāṣid Syariah, which include protecting religion (ḥifẓ al-dīn), life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), intellect (ḥifẓ al-'aql), lineage (ḥifẓ al-nasl), and property (ḥifẓ al-māl), can serve as a normative foundation for evaluating and guiding the use of technology. By using this approach, technology is not just seen as a tool for progress, but also as a way to achieve benefits and prevent harm to both individuals and the community. Therefore, Maqāṣid Syariah has strong relevance as an adaptive and comprehensive ethical framework for addressing the challenges of technological development in the digital era.
