Author Guidelines

AUTHOR GUIDELINES

A. General Requirements

To meet the publication standards of Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Terpadu Indonesia (JUMASTRI), submitted manuscripts must comply with the following requirements:

  1. Manuscripts should report the implementation and outcomes of community service activities that contribute to community empowerment, capacity building, technology transfer, education, social development, public health, environmental sustainability, economic improvement, or other forms of community engagement.
  2. Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English and must include:
    • Title
    • Abstract
    • Keywords
    • Main text
    • References
  3. Abstracts and keywords must be provided in English regardless of the manuscript language.
  4. Manuscripts must be prepared using the official JUMASTRI template on A4 paper size.
  5. The manuscript should be written in two-column format using Times New Roman, 10-point font, and single spacing.
  6. Page margins should follow the journal template:
    • Top: 1.9 cm
    • Bottom: 4.13 cm
    • Left: 1.43 cm
    • Right: 1.43 cm
  7. Figures and photographs must be numbered consecutively, with captions placed below each figure.
  8. Tables must be numbered consecutively, with titles placed above each table.
  9. Author names must be accompanied by complete institutional affiliations and corresponding author email addresses.
  10. Manuscripts should be between 6 and 12 pages in length. Manuscripts exceeding this limit may be considered at the discretion of the editorial board.
  11. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote and follow the APA citation style.
  12. Manuscripts must comply with the journal's Publication Ethics, Plagiarism Policy, and Copyright Policy.
  13. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript is free from plagiarism and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.

B. Structure of the Manuscript

Articles submitted to JUMASTRI should be organized as follows:

Title

The title should clearly reflect the community service activity, intervention, program, or innovation being reported. Avoid abbreviations whenever possible and use concise, informative wording.

Abstract

The abstract should not exceed 250 words and should be written in a single paragraph. It should briefly describe:

  • Background of the community problem
  • Objectives of the community service activity
  • Methods or approaches implemented
  • Target community or beneficiaries
  • Results and impacts achieved
  • Conclusions and recommendations

The abstract must not contain citations, tables, figures, or references.

Keywords

Provide 3–5 keywords that accurately represent the content of the manuscript.

1. Introduction

The introduction should explain:

  • Background of the community problem
  • Needs analysis of the target community
  • Existing conditions and challenges
  • Objectives of the community service program
  • Expected benefits and impacts
  • Relevant literature supporting the program

2. Methods

This section should describe:

  • Location and time of implementation
  • Target community or beneficiaries
  • Methods, approaches, or strategies used
  • Stages of implementation
  • Materials, tools, or technologies applied
  • Evaluation techniques used to measure outcomes

The description should be sufficiently detailed to allow replication of the program.

3. Results and Discussion

This section should present:

  • Activities conducted
  • Outputs produced
  • Community participation and engagement
  • Program achievements and impacts
  • Supporting data, tables, photographs, or figures
  • Evaluation results
  • Comparison with similar community service programs or relevant literature

The discussion should explain the significance, strengths, limitations, and sustainability of the program.

4. Conclusion

The conclusion should summarize:

  • Main achievements of the community service activity
  • Benefits obtained by the target community
  • Contributions to community development
  • Recommendations for future implementation or program improvement

Acknowledgments

Acknowledgments may be given to institutions, sponsors, partners, community groups, funding agencies, or individuals who contributed significantly to the implementation of the community service activity.

References

References should:

  • Use APA Style.
  • Consist of at least 15 references.
  • Include recent and relevant literature whenever possible.
  • Contain references from journals, books, proceedings, government publications, and other credible sources related to the community service topic.

The content of the manuscript remains the responsibility of the authors. However, the Editorial Board reserves the right to make editorial corrections regarding language, formatting, and style without altering the substance of the manuscript.
