Acculturation of Islam and local culture is a part of Indonesian history that demonstrates how Islamic teachings interact with local culture. The spread of Islam was conducted not only through trade and education, but also through arts, customs, architecture, and dawah activities that adapted to public life. This research aims to determine how the process of acculturation between Islam and local culture occurs, its various forms in Indonesian society, and how this heritage can be preserved. This study uses a literature review method with a historical and qualitative descriptive approach by examining relevant scientific sources. The results show that the encounter of Islam with local culture produced diverse traditions and historical heritage with distinctive characteristics in each region. This fusion proves that Islam developed alongside community culture without necessarily eliminating existing traditions. Therefore, the heritage of acculturation needs to be maintained and introduced to younger generations so that the historical values and cultural richness of Indonesia remain preserved.
